POLITICS 101: MAKING POOR DECISIONS
TALK ABOUT AN ALL TIME SELF-OWN BY A BUMBLING POLITICIAN!
The way I see it, the POLITICIAN had four options for dealing with the following scenario:
Do I go to Cancun while my constituents suffer through an unprecedented winter weather catastrophe?
Option A: Cancel the trip completely. Send a message to their family, party, and constituents that a real POLITICIAN makes sacrifices…Although, I doubt they would be without power in any case.
Option B: Send their family while they stayed behind. Send a message to their family that they are willing to sacrifice for them; while knowing that they will reap the POLITICAL capital they so desperately desire.
Option C: Reschedule the trip until such time as would allow for an appropriate gallivanting in the sun drenched sand of Mexico, while their constituents pick up the pieces of their interrupted lives. Send a message, albeit still weak as shit, that a POLITICIAN sometimes has to deal with minor scheduling inconveniences, in order to do their JOB.
Option D: Blame a Democrat or, at the very least, manifest a false narrative that the trip was official POLITCIAL business. Send a message that these commie DEMOs are trying to ruin AMERICA. Sooooooooo weak!
Of course the POLITICIAN chose to follow their own option, which was to go to Cancun.
